Hi there, and thanks for visiting! This is Odd Nauseam, a webcomic about a sentient zombie named Greyjaw and a talking jackalope named Joy. After humans drive Joy's family away and steal something from Greyjaw, the two relunctantly team up to get back the things that were taken from them. The comic follows them through post-zombie-plague-and-monster-infestation Americana as they dodge danger and meet crazy and interesting folks along the way.
I originally wrote and drew this comic from 2011-2013, while I was in law school in Atlanta, GA. Once I finished law school and started studying for the bar exam, I was unable to continue working on the comic as much as I used to. On top of that, I had just finished the opening three-part story, Welcome to the International House of Fail!, so it just sort of ended up being a good place to stop before starting up a whole new chapter. I had many more stories planned for the world of Odd Nauseam, but by now I have moved on to other projects. However, I am still very proud of what I did make, and hopefully people can continue to enjoy it into the future!
As of 2018, I am a 30 year old native of Florida, currently living in Fort Myers with my husband and three pet rats. I've been drawing since I was little, and I spent most of my childhood doodling Sonic the Hedgehog and Sailor Moon fanart. As a teenager, I became obsessed with the artwork of Jamie Hewlett, the artist behind Tank Girl and Gorillaz. Gorillaz, Sonic and Sailor Moon (especially the manga) are the biggest influences in my artwork.
After drawing a 100 page long Gorillaz fancomic during high school and college, I really wanted to start my own original comic, but I never got around to it. About 4 or 5 years later, I set sail into the sea of online webcomics and managed to make what's available to read here on this site. I am very grateful that you took the time to come here and check out my comic, so thank you very much! This comic is a manifestation of my love for cartoons, action-adventure stories and black and white comics.
I really hope everyone enjoys reading Odd Nauseam as much as I enjoyed drawing it! Peace!
Is there anything coming next for Odd Nauseam?
Sadly, I do not have plans to continue the comic. However, I do have plans, as of February 2018, to turn this comic into a visual novel, in order to help me learn how to make visual novels! You can track the progress of that project on Twitter at @oddlazdo.
